Today was all about fitting in as many sights as possible. It was a bit of a re-hash for me but hey, there are worse things that I could be doing. It was the Bro's first time in town and the Dad's second (or maybe third) but the Dad had always done it from a tourbus and he noted that he never went up the Eiffel Tower. Task One for the day - get the Dad to the summit.
So happy. He's going to be at the top soon!
Waiting in line.
This was the queue at about 10am. We should have prebooked dammit.
Evidence of going up to the summit!
After enjoying the views, we paused for a crepe break and then headed off to St. Michel for the Sandeman's Walking Tour. Task Two for the day - get an appreciation of the history of Paris. It was the same tour I did last time but with a Dutch fellow instead.
Oh is that how you translate 'The Hangover 2' into French? I'm sure it's said with a lovely French accent.
Must force the Dad into ridiculous force perspective poses.
We paused for a ice cream and drink break on the Champs Elysees. Task Three for the day - go up the Arc de Triomphe. Why not? Let's enjoy the other view.
Enjoying the other view very much.
Appreciating the model.
On deciding what to have for dinner, I declared 'I'm happy to eat Viet food every night!' and so off we trotted to arr 13. We had a wander around town and settled on a restaurant which had newly opened. The Asian-ish bouquet of congratulatory flowers gave it away.
My bowl of pho. It was ok. Not the best, most definitely not the worst, just run of the mill.
I guess this post is kinda short and doesn't give the impression of a action-packed day but it's all been done before, the only difference this time is that I had grown two men in tow.
