The only thing I can 'cook'

I do use the term 'cook' loosely as rice paper rolls involves very little 'cooking'. I'll never claim to be a chef and while I don't mind cooking, despite all good intentions my dishes tend to be hit and miss at times. I will however say that my rice paper rolls kick ass. Actually, anyone who shares a similar gene pool with me wil also have good rice paper rolls. We came out of the womb wetting rice paper and sipping nuoc mam.

My little babies.

I clearly have nothing to blog about.

On the other hand, Smee loves the kitchen and moreover, he likes to perfect his dishes. Here's his clams in XO sauce noodles.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, I tells you.

What? I like taking close up shots of food!

Race for Life

It rained yesterday. Absolute fat, scary rain. I was not looking forward to this charity run especially with the forecast saying that there would be thundery showers for Saturday. Ugh! Jokes about a massive wet t-shirt competition - it was females only - were definitely not appreciated.

Lucky for us, London weather was on our side and I woke to a sunny morning - yay!! Needless to say, it started raining about an hour after the race was completed.

In case you are interested, I kept my promise of jogging and walking. Hmmm, the exercise kinda felt good. I wish I lived near Regents park. I think I would go jogging more regularly.
Part of our team.
The starting line.
Finished! Yippee, we get a medal!
For all those who donated, thank you very much. For all those who didn't errrr no thank you for you!

I suppose I should start advertising....

Hmmm, well better late then never. Along with a few others I'm going to be doing a 5km fun run to raise money for cancer research. Unlike my last foray into exercise with the masses, this will be a relatively painless one. Ermm, not that the other was painful.

I am still debating whether to run, walk, jog or stroll it. I think it will be a mixture of jogging (and pretending to be fit) and then dragging my feet for about 500 metres before jogging again.

Our group's target is £250 and it's been a slow climb to £215, so if anyone else can donate please do so!!!

Mr L's Birthday

Mr L's birthday dinner was held at Bacchus, a nice little gastronomic pub situated in the middle of a slightly dodgy street. We were tucked away in our own little room where JT played in the background, thus we were free to wreak havoc.
A pic of most of the party.

Lil Miss J and Baoey. Annoying beautiful.

Siblings Kt and Mona.

J working the camera.

No, I'm not Mariah Carey but I dunno how these three photos are only of the right hand side of my face.

Kt trying to break up a fight.

A lovely photo of Bao and Kt *rofl*. I may have to remove it upon request.

Yep, she's thirsty.

Drinks were held at Bedroom bar, even though there was only one bed inside.

Drinks time!

Lil Miss J attending to a 'I don't feel so good' Mr. L.

Baoey's 'I feel dizzy, I need to walk it off' walk.

The night was capped off with a bagel at the local 24 hour bagel joint.

Leesh's Birthday

Leesh locked us all in for a dinner at Sofra to help her celebrate her birthday. I had the juiciest lamb shoulder I've ever had in my life. Actually come to think of it, I think this is my first lamb shoulder. Lamb shanks - yes, but lamb shoulder? No, this must be my first time.

It would have been a good idea to take more photos of the guests but I left that up to Leesh and you can view the photos from her blog.

The dinner crowd.

Doing what we always do - sign the birthday card on the night while the birthday boy/girl pretends to not see.

My lamb-ie. Sitting pretty on a leek-infused mash.

Baoey's fish stew covered in rice.

My milk pudding dessert. Very nice.

Bao's rice milk pudding with I dunno, currants? on top.
