Yum Cha with the Relos

Oh yeah, I have relatives here. Two cousins in fact, but no, they're not British, in fact they both hail from Sydney and have been in London for the past six to seven years (?!?). Time flies eh?

We had yum cha near Baker St station. Let's just say, yum cha in London generally sucks. I'd been to another place where the dumplings resembled those in the frozen section of the supermarket - made for ockers, miniscule in size. There are no dim sum carts that we're used to in Australia, but that's just a tourist trap anyway. The food here wasn't bad, but we are really spoilt back home in terms of variety, quality and quantity. Jimmy Choo had eaten at this restaurant, but making beautiful shoes has nothing to do with food.

Why the hell are there so many mainlanders here? Sorry, that was just a random thought.

Me with the relos.

My Parcel

As part of my moving over here, I had a single box of personal items shipped from Melbourne to London. Just in case you're interested, it was just mainly clothes, minimal textbooks and the top half was my SK-II stash and a years supply of daily disposable contact lenses. Given that it was just ONE box, it was financially justified for me to do this via air freight (door to door delivery) rather than wait three months for it to arrive via sea cargo.

Well, everyone knows what a box looks like right? Cuboid, often rectangular, but otherwise regular with sharp right angled corners. Well, that's how mine looked when I shipped it off. This is how it looked when it arrived at my door two and half weeks later:

I question how DHL managed to f#$k it up so badly.

I dont even know what to call that shape. It's a quadrilateral of some sort, maybe a rhombus or a trapezium. I couldn't even remember what the strict definition of rhombus is. Through the wonders of the internet, I now know that it's not a rhombus, rather a it's a trapezium (but only in the American English sense).

Here's a close up shot. A nice broken box. Lucky I have super-powers in the packing sense. Nothing was damaged as I had smartly packed an IKEA cloth shelf at the bottom, still in it's plastic cover. I do recall contemplating removing the plastic cover though.

Look who I found!

Ok, so I didn't really "find" JK. We both knew that I was coming to London eventually. JK and I are going to be working opposite each other while she remains in the UK until February. Yay, someone to eat lunch with!

We had dinner at Pizza Express. I didn't realise this was a chain until I saw all the other Pizza Expresses around town. There are far too many chain stores in this world.
BS and JK.

JK's apple custard pie. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

New Year's Eve in Canary Wharf

After steamboat at Lil Miss J's place, I scuttled back for fireworks closer to home. Hmm I wasn't able to get any spectacular photos because we we're a bit far away and my camera is shite.

First stop was a drink at the Hilton hotel bar nearby where we watched other people arriving for a private party. The only thing about this party was that everyone was 'ebony' in colour and it looked like that P. Diddy was going to drop by any second. One guy looked like Morpheus from The Matrix. Another guy turned up in a pink suit, but he somehow managed to pull it off.
Here is Smee holding his breath so he can't smell my prawn aroma.

Look carefully, you can just see the fireworks

Spot the fireworks

Of course, the obligatory silly shot

Steamboat Take 2 - New Year's Eve dinner

New Year's Eve dinner was held at Lil Miss J and Mr L's place and I was having my second steamboat for the week! Needless to say, it was a yummy affair and thanks to everyone who helped organise it and to Lil Miss J and Mr. L for hosting!! All I did was bring my ass to the table.

We all had a heap of fun and took plenty of photos - many of which can not be shown to the general public :P Hopefully if Lil Miss J can get her blog up and running, you may be able to see some more shots. I don't know about anyone else at the dinner, but the prawn aroma infiltrated my clothing and I smelt like Har Mee for the rest of the night. It wasn't too bad a thing, it just made Smee feel very hungry.

Us all enjoying the meal:

Lil Miss J, that's a very sexy expression *roar*

Taking photographs of each other

We tried to form a Circle......
..... oh it's a bit square.....
This is as close to a Circle formation we could get.

I don't know what Lil Miss J was trying to photograph here.
Bao and Me doing our pose.

Li Miss J, Bao and I with our tortoiseshell glasses.
Bao with her naughty hands. Lil Miss J with her naughty hand too!

I dunno what we are doing here near Bao's jugs.

Who's taller? Bao or Lil Miss J? I'm still not sure.

Bao doing her own version of a lesbian kiss.... errrr, with a cup?

While we're taking silly photos, the others are still eating.

Mr. L showing off his belly.

Bao and Lil Miss J on the phone to Kt in NYC... or was it Washington? Trying for a lesbian kiss.

Bao's latest handbag.

I think this is the ONLY proper photo of us three.

Me teaching Lil Miss J how to pout.

Lil Miss J - not a very quick learner.

NIPPLE CRIPPLE!!!!!!!!!

Bao trying to give a spanking

Victorious!!! Spanking achieved.

I have no idea what Lil Miss J is doing.

Oh look, she's attached herself to my leg.

Just in case you're wondering, dessert was sticky date pudding - mmmmmmmm almost as good as the Sara Lee one. Unfortunately, I had to waddle off to my next destination. Lil Miss J and Bao walked me to the nearest tube. Baoey was a little bit lazy in putting on her boots and opted to wear Lil Miss J's sandals over her socks. Classy look.
In answer to your question, yes we did have fun! Fireworks pictures to come next!

China White

For people who know me fairly well, the thought of going to a club makes me groan. Yeah, sure it was fun back in first and second year uni and I certainly don't deny ever enjoying it but now... ergh.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm in an unfamiliar environment but I quite enjoyed my clubbing adventure two nights ago at China White. I do however hold my intoxication responsible for my fun. China White is meant to be an 'exclusive' celeb hang out and while I give my approval to the mixed crowd and decor, I didn't see any celebrities.

We all got quite drunk and lucky for us there were no unfortunate vomiting episodes, but I do have some memory blanks. Here's a photo of the two drunk punks posing very nicely.

Has anyone ever seen a more gay-er couple?
