I first learned how to knit... oh I dunno about 16 years ago. My ma is a trained seamstress and a deft hand at knitting and crochet. While growing up our house was always full of sewing kits, thread, material, yarn and knitting accessories. I remember trying to teach myself how to knit from her books but in the end it was all a bit confusing and she taught me the basics instead.
I began a scarf of which I completed one half, got bored, set it aside and it was completed about 3 years later by Mummy dearest. I still own it!
For a skill that lay happily dormant for the better half of my life, for some reason I've been itching to learn it again. Maybe it's the impending London winter. Maybe I'm just getting old. When someone suggested going to knitting classes, I said YES! When someone else said they had a friend who's been knitting since she was 5 and was happy to teach us, it was even happier times!
I bought my knitting needles and a ball of yarn in preparation for the free class, but they sat there longing for me to play with them. That is where the age of information comes in handy. I basically re-taught myself the long lost knitting skillz before the free class even started. This website was particularly helpful.
So when everyone gathered at my place - all seven of us, I did feel like a nerd who completed her homework before everyone else. I can't help it, I got really excited!
At the same time, I can see this is bordering on obsession. Also, I'm not exactly a fast knitter and I can see that this will already eat into my recreational time. I barely have enough time to blog, exercise and read books as it is. Grrr, why do I always have to pick up the time-consuming hobbies!?! It's a love-hate thing. *pat pat the knitting needles*

Miley Cyrus
I saw Miley Cyrus in Oxford St Topshop today. I heard the grating type of American accent and didn't give it another thought. I turned around and realised it was Miley, or if you wish, Hannah Montana.
I don't think that it's anything I should be bragging about. Given that I'm not a mother of tweens, I am somewhat embarrassed that I even know who she is! Hahahaha
There were some serious signs of over-styling. Her hair looked like it had the same texture as straw. Bleah.

Hens Partay
Lil Miss J is getting married ever so soon and so a little Hens partay was planned.
Yes, yes, it all began very classy with a picnic at Green Park. We were very lucky with the weather especially for this time of year. Sunny all around!
Mmm yummy Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes.
The whole gang in the park.
Here I go sauntering across in my big ol feathers.

A bit of wining and dining to start us off and then the hen had to don the obligatory embarrassing accessories. Learner-plate pink headband, a sash, garter and a phallic necklace were the accessories of choice for dear Lil Miss J.
The whole gang in the park.
Next on the agenda was burlesque dancing. You know, something useful for the wedding night. We all donned ourselves in hold-up fishnets and gloves. Yah-huh... mmm.. mmm... mmmmmmm.. sexy!

Lil Miss J then was subject to the ultimate embarrassment of performing in front of the rest of us. This involved sliding up and down a mirror, crawling on all fours and slowly removing all her accessories. I'm getting hot under the collar thinking about it. Hehehe
We separated to prettify ourselves for dinner and then gathered at a hotel where we were greeted by the surprise of the night Michael, our Butler in the Buff.

He was a lovely butler and very accommodating with our drinks and snacks. No, it wasn't his career, but it's just a bit on the side as he puts himself through his studies. I think it was drama school. Michael had to bid adieu much to our disappointment, but we had a dinner reservation at Asia De Cuba to attend.

Avenue Q
I saw Avenue Q for third time tonight. That's all. No way near Kt's record though. Six times? The entire London cast had changed :( The new Kate Monster was no way as good as the original.
